The CISMOR Delegation visited the Sultanate of Oman to promote the relationship between CISMOR and Omani universities and research institutes
Prof. Katsuhiro Kohara, Director of CISMOR, Prof. Samir Nouh and Prof. Junya Shinohe, were invited by the Omani Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs to visit Oman from 22 to 24 November to promote the relationship between CISMOR and Omani universities and research institutes. The CISMOR delegation held fruitful talks with H E Minister of Awqaf and Religious affairs Ashaikh Abdullah Bin Muhammad Assilmi and Professor Dr. Kahlan alKharousi, assistant Grand Mufti. In the second day of the visit, the delegation exchanged opinions about religion and higher education with a numbers of university professors and researchers in the three-hour workshop held at the German University of Technology. The delegation was received by the Secretary General of the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for culture and Science (Diwan of Royal Court) Shaikh Habib M. Al-Riyami and Director of Planning and Studies Directorate Shaikh Mohamed Amur Said Al Shidani. Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for culture and science is ready to accept Doshisha students who wish to enroll in Arabic language courses organised by the center. The delegation visited the Higher Institute of Sharia Sciences, Ministry of Awqaf and Religious affairs and met with General manager Shaikh Aisa Bin Yousuf Bin Sultan Al Busaidi and a number of Professors and discussed the possibility to sign a memorandum between CISMOR and the Institute of Sharia sciences to conduct joint research program and workshops and present tolerant Islam to Japanese people. The delegation also visited the Sultan Qaboos University and held a meeting with Prof. Dr. Hamad Al-Salmi, deputy vice chancellor, and Prof. Dr. Mohsin Humood Al-Kindi, Director of Oman Studies Center. Before leaving Oman the CISMOR delegation met with Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al-Harrasi, chairman of Public authority for Radio and TV.
