Summary:
This talk examines the relationship between Protestant missionaries, their home mission boards, and Japanese, Korean, Indian and Chinese converts in the late 19th century. In particular, it examines how each of these groups debated sensitive issues such as ancestor reverence, and the eternal fate of ancestors who died before hearing about Christianity.
