Summary:
In the shadow of the War in Ukraine, Iran and its neighboring states of Iraq and Azerbaijan have faced new security challenges. Among them is the growing information warfare revolving around ethnic and religious identities, particularly in the border zones of these countries. The lecture will examine the ongoing identity politics revitalized through social media exercised by citizens. What Kurdish and Azerbaijani ethnicities matter in the border zones? What is the War in Ukraine's impact on the grassroots social movement in the region? The lecturer will answer these questions to discuss what such movements will shape geopolitical transformation in the region in the age of Information Warfare.
