Group Leader : Ritsu Ishikawa (Professor, School of Theology, Doshisha University)
The project studies religious policies of governments in Europe, especially in Germany, France, and the UK, that exist to deal with religious situations in each country. It aims to collect and analyze information the on diverse and multilayered religious conditions in Europe, and simultaneously to survey and consider how respective governmental agencies recognize, evaluate, and try to deal with them. The project researches and analyzes the details of religious policies of the entire EU, concurrently with those of respective countries.

Group Leader : Kenji Tomita (Professor, School of Theology, Doshisha University)
This project focuses on the Iranian Islamic regime, which cannot be avoided when considering the tension and discord between the modern Western World, as represented by the United States, and Islam, Researchers continuously accumulate fundamental knowledge so as to analyze and consider the Iranian Islamic regime's view of the Western world, and the United States in particular, with respect to this view's from, attributes, and structure. Ultimately, the project seeks to systematically relate the Iranian view to the viewpoints of the modern Western World and of the United States.
