要旨:
2020年10月17日(土)、2020年度最初のCISMORセミナー、“What is the Antonym of Sin? Christianity and The Place of Dazai’s Narrative in the Literary Discourse of the Pre- and Postwar Years”が開催されました。講師は、ウェスタン・ワシントン大学 東アジア研究センター長のMassimiliano Tomasi教授で、セミナーはウェブ会議システムを用いて開催されました。セミナーの内容は、海外の研究者からは見過ごされがちな太宰治の作品におけるキリスト教的要素の重要性を指摘し、第二次大戦前後の日本におけるキリスト教と文学との相互作用という背景に注目しながら、太宰の懐疑主義について検討を行うもので、講演者とあわせた13名によって活発な質疑応答がなされました。ご講演を頂いたTomasi教授および参加された皆様に心より御礼を申し上げます。
